BBC Breakfast has taken to the road this week, with a series looking at the problems facing Britain’s town centres, and at what the future might look like.
In Reading, Zed Events have taken over a derelict shopping centre to create an interactive zombie apocalypse – a role play across the derelict shops and throughout the arcade.
The BBC visited, and Empty Shops Network founder Dan Thompson was asked about creative reuse of high streets and what the future might hold. You can see him, Chris Wade from Action for Market Towns – and some nasty looking zombies – in this YouTube clip.
