Live Art Bistro (or LAB) is a new artist-run venue with no fixed abode.
Key to the pop up philosophy is the idea that these are spaces for prototyping and testing, so failure is acceptable. LAB is built on the premise that the best ideas are forever unfinished, so it provides artists with the space to create and the time to fail.
LAB is held in partnership with East Street Arts, who are experienced at brokering deals for creative pop ups in Leeds and the surrounding area. East Street Arts were featured in the Empty Shops Network’s Pop Up People report.
They have found LAB a 10,000 sq. ft. New York loft style building in Leeds city centre, which hosts an on-going programme of live & performing arts events. The space bridges the gaps between the club, gallery and theatre.
