Art Pharmacy pops up in Sydney

Australia’s first online art gallery Art Pharmacy will undertake its second foray into pop ups with two back to back exhibitions over one month. Both exhibitions will showcase original art from established and emerging Australian artists. Art Pharmacy has come up with a show that is original, affordable and edgy.

Times are tight and so is space. So their first show will display artworks for purchase that are small, sensibly priced and one of a kind. The show is titled ‘CITY vs NATURE’ and features 20 artists and 80 original works in a variety of mediums from illustration, watercolour, oil & acrylic paint to wood and collage. All works explore the complex relationship between city life and the natural world. All will be priced between $100-$250 and are A5 size. The show opens on Thursday 2nd May.

Art Pharmacy’s second show CONTEMPORARY URBANISM will be popping up in the same space on Thursday 16th May. In this show 5 emerging artists will present scenes from the streets, bringing both the grit and vibrancy of the city to the pop up space. The exhibition will feature 30 medium to large scale works, entrenched in urban culture and ripe with undertones of humour and wit. CONTEMPORARY URBANISM is a spyglass into the streets, modern city life through the artist’s eyes.

The Art Pharmacy pop up is at 118 Oxford St, Darlinghurst, Sydney.

Art Pharmacy was founded by Emilya Colliver, who has worked for 11 years in London, with a year in Beijing. Her knowledge of the international art scene has allowed her to work at The British Museum, Hauser & Wirth, and Lisson Gallery.
