Holy Week Pop Up Shop aims to be a place of welcome, hospitality, generosity and encounter in Altrincham.
From Saturday 12th April to Saturday 19th April, the former Thorntons shop will be open each day from 10am to 2pm.
The idea has come from the local Methodist Church in Altrincham. Using the theme of Hope, there will be a variety of the things that passers by can call in to see and do. There will be an exhibition of photographs called ‘One Day In Time’. Local people will submit a picture taken on Tuesday April 1st that depicts Hope. These pictures will be on display throughout the week.
There will also be an Easter Craft activity where all ages can stop by and make crafts to take away. And Hope bags have been prepared with surprising things inside that speak on the theme. Technology will create an interactive prayer wall, and there will be a display of the important work done in the local Foodbank and also Christians Against Poverty. On Easter Saturday, there will be a visit from the excellent ‘No Strings’ Puppet Ministry team.
The idea of the Holy Week Pop up Shop for the week is of a Christian presence in the town during the most significant week in the Church’s calendar. All are welcome to call in see what’s going on anytime during the week.
